Johnny Gaudreau, Flames come to terms on six-year deal
Calgary Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau has agreed to a six-year, $40.5 million contract with the team.
What It Means:
The two sides were reportedly haggling between below $7 million and above $8 million in terms of annual value. Gaudreau conceded to a lower value, but on a shorter time commitment. It could prove to be a particularly team-friendly deal if Gaudreau replicates last season's 78-point production.
Gaudreau's 30 goals and 48 assists both represented career-highs during his 79-game 2015-2016 campaign. His possession numbers were solid, evidenced by a 50.5 Corsi For Percentage and 3.1 Relative Corsi For at Even Strength.
