Stephen Gionta gets professional tryout from Islanders
Free agent winger Stephen Gionta has agreed to a professional tryout with the New York Islanders.
What It Means:
The 32-year-old didn't make his NHL debut until the 2010-11 campaign, but he's played in 270 games since. He has a chance to crack the Islanders' fourth-line.
With the New Jersey Devils last season, Gionta had 1 goal and 11 points in 82 games.
