Lightning may keep Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy all season

Tampa Bay Lightning goalies Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy could both start and finish the 2016-17 campaign on the team.

What It Means:

General Manager Steve Yzerman gave his two cents, saying, "That's certainly an option for us. And it's not a bad option." There haven't been extension talks between Bishop and Tampa Bay and he's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Trade rumors have swirled around Bishop, but keeping him on the club could give the Lightning their best chance at winning a Stanley Cup.

Bishop posted a .926 save percentage and a NHL best 2.06 goals against average in 61 games played last season. Vasilevskiy owned a .910 save percentage and a 2.76 goals against average in 24 games played during the 2015-16 campaign.
