Ducks acquire Jonathan Bernier from Toronto
The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded goaltender Jonathan Bernier to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional 2017 draft pick.
The Ducks were already well-positioned at goalie, with John Gibson and Frederik Andersen both playing well last season. Bernier will serve as a backup in Anaheim.
He had some serious struggles in Toronto last season, evidenced by a .908 save percentage and 2.88 goals against average that were both his worst marks since a four-game rookie campaign in 2007-2008.
