Brian Campbell

Brian Campbell agrees on one-year deal with Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks will reportedly sign defenseman Brian Campbell to a one-year deal.

What It Means:

The Blackhawks were expected to bring back Campbell (he played three seasons there from 2008-2011) and now the deal is official. The veteran defender had six goals and 31 points in 82 games last season to go with a plus-31 rating. He will be a great addition to Chicago's top-four defense.

This was the expectation and now it has come to fruition as the veteran should make for a splendid addition to an already stout Chicago defense. Campbell totaled six goals and 31 points in all 82 contests last year, recording a plus-31 plus/minus in the process. Campbell's 5.7 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength was the best mark of his career, while his 52.7 Corsi For Percentage was a smidge below his career-average (53.9)
