Ducks vow to not overplay John Gibson next year
Anaheim Ducks netminder John Gibson will be Anaheim's top option in goal next season now that Frederik Andersen has been traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but Anaheim general manager Bob Murray said the team doesn't want to overplay Gibson.
What It Means:
Anaheim, per Murray, is actively shopping for a backup goalie. Still, Gibson's fantasy stock has seen a big boost this offseason now that the other half of the Ducks' goaltending duo is out of town.
Just 22, Gibson put up very solid numbers as a rookie. He posted a .920 save percentage and 2.07 goals against average in 40 appearances. Probably looking at 50-plus starts next year, Gibson will be a highly-coveted netminder in fantasy circles.
