Bruins ink Kevan Miller to four-year deal

Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller has agreed to a four-year, $10 million contract extension with the team.

What It Means:

That represents a big raise over Miller's previous contract, which paid him $1.6 million over two years. Miller had 5 goals, 13 assists, and 53 penalty minutes in 71 games last season. The 28-year-old blueliner has 159 NHL games under his belt.

The 18 points and 71 games played were both easily career highs, but Miller was poor at driving possession. His Corsi For Percentage was 49.3 and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength was -0.8. Miller's 123 blocked shots ranked 48th best.
