Brent Burns stays hot, nets two goals in San Jose's win
San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final.
What It Means:
Both of Burns' goals were scored on the power play. His first goal gave the Sharks a 2-0 lead at the 7:04 mark of the second period. His second goal extended San Jose's cushion to 3-0 in the third frame. Tommy Wingels and Dainius Zubrus also scored for the Sharks. Game 3 goes Thursday night in San Jose with the Blues and Sharks tied 1-1.
Burns had a career-best campaign this year, and he's carried it over into the postseason. After totaling a career-high 75 points in the regular season (27 goals, 48 helpers), the 31-year-old has six goals and 18 points in 14 games this postseason.
