Frederik Andersen would love to stay with Ducks

Anaheim Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

What It Means:

It's unclear if the Ducks will keep Andersen in the fold with John Gibson ready to be a full-time starter. "Tough to say right now," Andersen said. "I think when the time comes some decisions will be made. I like playing here and all the guys love having me in the net. I like it here, so obviously, I would love to play here." Andersen's previous contract had an annual average value of just $1.15 million.

Andersen posted a .919 save percentage and a 2.30 goals against average in 43 games played this season. He also won the William M. Jennings Trophy, which is given to the goalie who allows the fewest goals for that season. The Ducks started the playoffs with Gibson in net, but switched to Andersen after he struggled. Anderson played in 5 games and recorded a .947 save percentage and a 1.41 goals against average, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Nashville Predators.
