Andrew Shaw stays hot, nets another goal as Blackhawks fall

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw scored his fourth goal of the postseason Monday night, but he and the 'Hawks were eliminated from playoff contention as they were edged 3-2 by the St. Louis Blues in Game 7 of their first-round series.

What It Means:

The Blackhawks were ousted in the first round for the first time since the Arizona Coyotes defeated them in 2012. The 'Hawks are the first defending Stanley Cup champions to lose in the opening round since the Boston Bruins were eliminated in 2012.

Prior to this series, Shaw had scored 12 goals and 17 assists in 61 playoff games. He netted four goals and dished out two assists against the Blues. For the year, he registered 14 goals and a career-best 20 helpers. Shaw's 51.4 Corsi For Percentage and -0.6 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength were both below his career averages.
