Marian Hossa scores a goal in Blackhawks' season-ending loss

Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa potted his third goal of the playoffs on Monday night in a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

What It Means:

He got the Blackhawks on the board late in the first period after the Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Hossa had a slow start to the postseason, but he finished strong with a four-game point streak (three goals, two assists). Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to get Chicago into Round 2 as St. Louis advanced with the Game 7 victory.

In 64 regular season games, Hossa tallied 13 goals and 20 assists. The 33 points were his fewest in a season in which he's played at least 60 games since his rookie campaign way back in 1998-'99. The 37-year-old is in the twilight of what's been a superb career.
