Dan Girardi

Rangers' Dan Girardi isn't available for Game 4

New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Game 4 on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

What It Means:

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault isn't sure if Girardi will end up returning before the end of the first round series against Pittsburgh. Girardi participated in Game 1 on April 13, but hasn't played since.

Girardi played 78 games in the regular season and finished with 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists), the lowest of any full season in his career. He was atrocious at helping drive possession, as his Corsi For Percentage was 41.3 and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength was -9.0, both career worsts. His presence will still be missed, as he played over 20 minutes a game and had the 6th most blocked shots during the regular season.
