NHL fines and suspends Blackhawks' Andrew Shaw

Chicago Blackhawks winger Andrew Shaw has been suspended for one game and fined $5,000 for using a homophobic slur and making an inappropriate gesture to an official.

What It Means:

He must also undergo sensitivity training. Shaw won't be eligible to play in Game 5 against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night.

Shaw finished the regular season with 34 points (14 goals, career high 20 assists) in 78 games played, but wasn't great at driving possession. His Corsi For Percentage was 51.4 and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength was -0.6.
