Thomas Hickey scores overtime winner for Islanders

New York Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey scored the overtime winner in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

What It Means:

The win gives the Islanders a 2-1 series lead. This was Hickey's first career playoff goal, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey picked up the assists on the game-winner. Ryan Pulock, Shane Prince and Frans Nielsen also found the back of the net for the Islanders. Game 4 will be played in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

In his fourth season, Hickey finished with a career-best six goals and 11 helpers. Both his Corsi For Percentage (47.9) and Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (-3.3) were career-low clips.
