Kucherov notched the assist on Alex Killorn's game winner at 8:52 of the third period. The goal broke a 2-2 tie. Killorn had a two-point night. He assisted on Kucherov's game-opening goal at 6:23 of the first period. Kucherov was held out of the Lightning's regular-season finale last Saturday with an ailment which the club wouldn't disclose. After practice Monday, he said he felt a little sore. Wednesday, however, he looked sharp, firing four shots on net to go along with his three points. Game 2 of this series will be played Friday night.

Kucherov had a superb season for Tampa Bay. He netted a career-best 30 goals with 36 assists, which tied a career high. He owned a 54.3 Corsi For Percentage and 0.4 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength, the latter of which was a career low.
