New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh will "definitely not start" New York's first-round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
New York coach Alain Vigneault delivered the news following Monday's practice. He said McDonagh is listed as day-to-day with an "upper-body injury." It's been reported he suffered a broken hand when he blocked a shot last Monday.
McDonagh has played well this season. He a 0.2 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength, which ranks fourth among Rangers' defensemen. His 34 points this season -- 9 goals, 25 assists -- are the second most of his career.
