Chicago's Patrick Kane records a hat trick in high-scoring victory

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane scored three goals and added an assist in a 6-4 win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday.

What It Means:

Kane scored his 41st, 42nd and 43rd goals of the season, as well as recording his first career 100-point season. He joins Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin as the only three players to reach 100 points in the last five seasons. Kane still has another three games to add to his total. He will most likely run away with the Hart Memorial Trophy at the conclusion of the season. Artemi Panarin also chipped in with a goal and three assists.

Coming into the year, Kane's previous career-high point total was 88, which came back in the 2009-'10 season. He hadn't reached the 70-point mark in any of the previous four campaigns. To go along with the scoring, Kane owns a 53.4 Corsi For Percentage and 3.2 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength, the latter of which is a career-best clip.
