Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn scored a power-play goal at 14:32 of the third period Wednesday night to lead to his team's 2-1 shootout victory over the visiting Washington Capitals.
Schenn's goal was his 25th of the season. Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds drew assists on the goal, their 43rd and 27th of the season, respectively. The victory was important for the Flyers as they moved two points ahead of the Detroit Red Wings for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
