Willie Mitchell (concussion) will remain sidelined for Panthers

Florida Panthers defenseman Willie Mitchell (upper body) won't return to action on Monday against the New York Rangers.

What It Means:

Florida coach Gerard Gallant said Mitchell could join the team later in the trip as it is believed he is close to being ready to play. Mitchell, who has been sidelined since January 18, was initially out with a lower-body injury but then concussion issues surfaced afterward.

Mitchell has one goal and six helpers in 46 games this season. Both his 42.5 Corsi For Percentage and -10.6 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength are career-low clips.
