Brent Burns B. Burns

Brent Burns' monster season continues in Sharks' win

San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns scored the winning goal and added an assist in the Sharks 3-2 triumph over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.

What It Means:

Burns scored his 26th goal, tying Sandis Ozolinsh for the franchise's single-season mark for defensemen, set in the 1993-'94 season. He also had an assist, giving him 64 points and tying Ozolinsh's single-season Sharks record for defensemen. Joonas Donskoi also scored and added an assist.

Burns already owns a career-best 64 points this season, and we project him to record four more goals and eight more assists over the remainder of the season. However, his -1.8 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength is a career low while his 52.0 Corsi For Percentage is his worst mark since 2010-'11.
