What It Means:

Gaudreau, 22, is eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer. It remains to be seen what the term and cap hit are, but he's expected to stay in Calgary. He did say he wants to spend his career with the Flames. With 120 points in 136 career games, he certainly looks like someone in line for a substantial payday.

Gaudreau is one of the game's brightest young stars. After totaling 64 points in 80 games last season as a rookie, Gaudreau has racked up 55 points in 55 games this year. His 50.6 Corsi For Percentage is up from last season's 47.3 mark, but his 1.5 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength is down quite a bit from his 3.7 clip from a year ago.
