Pavel Datsyuk joins rare Red Wings' company

Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk joined a short list of illustrious Red Wings players when he scored his 900th point with the franchise on Sunday.

What It Means:

Datsyuk joined Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Alex Delvecchio, Nicklas Lidstrom and Sergei Fedorov as the only players to ever score at least 900 points with Detroit. He did it in style. After netting the momentous goal, he potted another goal and recorded an assist to bring his career total up to 902 as the Red Wings beat the Bruins, 6-5.

Datsyuk has 11 goals and 22 assists this season. We project him to tally another eight goals and 14 assists the rest of the way. The 37-year-old's Corsi For Percentage (58.1) and Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (4.4) -- while being excellent numbers -- are both down from his career averages.
