Connor McDavid totals five points, puts on a show as Oilers blast Toronto
Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid put on a show during Thursday's 5-2 win over his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs, playing a part in all five Edmonton goals.
What It Means:
McDavid's previous high water mark for points in a single game was three, which he's accomplished twice already. Against the Maple Leafs, McDavid popped in a pair of goals and assisted on Edmonton's other three markers. He's now up to nine goals and 24 points in just 19 games.
A collarbone injury robbed McDavid of most of the first half of the season, but he's been a star when he's been healthy. We project him to tally another five goals and seven helpers in 16 games the rest of the way. His 53.1 Corsi For Percentage and 5.3 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength are both superb clips.
