Nikita Kucherov notches two points as Lightning top Red Wings
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov scored a goal and added an assist to help the Lightning down the visiting Detroit Red Wings, 3-1, on Wednesday night.
What It Means:
Kucherov is enjoying a terrific season. He now has 21 goals and 22 assists. His assist came on Tyler Johnson's sixth goal of the season. Both of Kucherov's points came on Lightning power plays. J.T. Brown opened the scoring for the Lightning with his fifth goal of the season.
In his third season, Kucherov is posting career-low possession numbers. His Corsi For Percentage (53.4) and Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (-1.4) are both career-worst clips. We project him to record 13 more goals and 17 more assists over the remainder of the season.
