Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews has been battling an illness, so he sat out the third period on Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, a game Chicago lost 5-0.

He left the morning skate early, as well, and finished the game with 10:07 of ice time. Toews hasn't earned a point in his last five games.
