Jets' Dustin Byfuglien scores two goals, exits early after collision

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien scored two goals in the Jets' win over the Nashville Predators Thursday night, then left the game after a collision in the third period.

What It Means:

The 30-year-old power-defenseman will travel to Minnesota for Friday night's game, but it is unknown whether he will play. Byfuglien snapped a five-game pointless drought, posting two goals on Thursday night with five shots and a plus-3 rating. The Jets beat Nashville 5-4 in overtime, but they will certainly miss Byfuglien if he is out of the lineup.

He has 25 points in 44 games this season. Our rest-of-year projections have Byfuglien scoring nine more goals with 15 more assists over the remainder of the campaign. His Corsi For Percentage (54.8) and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (5.6) are both the second-best marks of his career.
