Brendan Gallagher (hand) out indefinitely for Montreal
Montreal Canadiens winger Brendan Gallagher left Sunday's game against the New York Islanders after blocking a Johnny Boychuk shot and didn't return.
The Montreal Canadiens announced that Gallagher will undergo surgery for two broken fingers on Monday and he'll be out indefinitely.
It's a tough blow for Gallagher, who was having a breakout season with 19 points in 22 games. He set a new career-high for points with 47 last season and was on pace to top it this year.
