3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Monday 4/4/22

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside -- if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists, as well.

Ideally, we want players who will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

Only four games to start this week, but we have some teams set up nicely.

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins are surging at the right time of the year. They have gone 16-3-1 in their last 20 games. During that stretch, they've beaten Monday's opponents twice, scoring five goals in each game.

We saw the depth in the Bruins' scoring over their past two games. The top line combined for 12 points in those two contests. Brad Marchand ($9,100) had five points over the two games, scoring three goals. Patrice Bergeron ($7,400) continues to fire the puck at will, totaling 49 shots on goal in his last 10 games. Jake DeBrusk ($5,400) has goals in four straight games, as a nice complementary piece on this top line.

We also have to consider stacking the second line. David Pastrnak ($8,800) is the team leader in goals with 38 this season. He's on this line and on the power play with Taylor Hall ($5,800), who has points in his last five games. The often-overlooked member of this line is Erik Haula ($4,200), but he now has three goals in his last three games. This line has a lower total salary than the first line and doesn't sacrifice too much upside.

Boston will face the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second game in a row. They dominated the last game, with 4.7 expected goals in all situations. Columbus continues to be a sieve defensively, allowing the third-most goals per game and the second-most shots on goal per game.

The Bruins should roll, and they boast an implied team total of 3.87 goals. A first- or second-line stack or a power-play stack with Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak and Hall are all good options to use tonight.

St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues seem to be under the radar this season. They should have a playoff spot in the Central Division barring a collapse and are a better offensive team than people think. They average the fifth-most goals per game in the league, putting them ahead of teams we think of as offensive juggernauts.

The Blues' strength up front is in their depth. David Perron ($6,400) is tied for the team lead in goals with 23. He plays with Ryan O'Reilly ($5,600) at even strength and on the power play. It hasn't been a brilliant year for O'Reilly offensively, but he is a good value for his role. Brandon Saad ($4,600) is also very affordable on this line, especially for a player with 20 goals on the season.

The second line for the Blues contains two players tied with Perron for the team lead in goals. Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,500) is enjoying a bounce-back campaign after two years of struggling with injuries. His compatriot, Pavel Buchnevich ($6,000), has been a fine addition to the Blues' lineup and is part of the reason they are so deep on the wings. Robert Thomas ($5,200) has had a breakthrough as a playmaker, leading the team with 42 assists. He'll join Buchnevich on the second power play.

The Blues get a great matchup tonight against the Arizona Coyotes. Arizona just played an overtime game last night and continues to be one of the worst defensive teams in the league. The Blues' have a high implied total of 4.16 goals, which makes them a great option to stack on this slate.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning got three points out of a possible four in two games this weekend. That brought their record in their last 10 games to 6-3-1, which should end any talk of a slump heading into the playoffs. They have a tougher matchup today, but with their high-powered line, they can score against anyone.

Tampa has made it easy for us, loading up the top line with the players we want to roster. Nikita Kucherov ($9,200) had five points in those two games over the weekend. Brayden Point ($8,000) scored a goal in each game and has goals in his last three games. Steven Stamkos ($8,600) is the newcomer on this line, and he has five goals in his last six games. This line also makes up 60% of the dangerous top power-play unit.

The Lightning are at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They get the slight edge over a Leafs stack for a few reasons. They are favored in this game and have better goaltending than Toronto does. They also give full correlation, which Toronto's first line does not. No one has been better than Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner of late, but Tampa could perform better in this game.

This should be a fun matchup for both real-life and fantasy purposes. With the Bolts sporting a 3.44 implied total, their top line is one of the highest-upside stacks on the slate.
