3 NHL FanDuel Studs to Target on Monday 4/4/22

With four games on the Monday night schedule, David Pastrnak or Brad Marchand could be on the radar. Let's take a look.

Spending up in any daily fantasy lineup is how to get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup.

In NHL DFS, it’s different from spending up in sports like NBA or NFL. Someone can be one of the highest salaried players at his position and put up a total dud of a performance, and paying that much for him would be a huge mistake. Let’s make sure we are spending salary in the right spots when building our lineups tonight.

Monday night has four games on the schedule. Here are a few studs.

Brayden Point, Center, Tampa Bay Lightning

FanDuel Salary: $8,000

The Tampa Bay Lightning center is low when it comes to salary on Monday night. Brayden Point has 20-plus FanDuel points in three straight games and four of his past five contests.

Point has real-world points in six straight contests, too, and now has a favorable home matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The big part of Point's surge involves his shot and chance output. Both are way up over the last three games. He is averaging nearly five shots and 5.33 scoring chances per game during that span.

Point is a great play without spending up for Auston Matthews tonight.

David Pastrnak, Wing, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Salary: $8,800

The Columbus Blue Jackets are a mess defensively, and a winger like David Pastrnak does not miss twice.

In their last meeting, the Boston Bruins winger had seven shots on goal and eight scoring chances. Before that, Pastrnak had five goals and three assists in four games.

The feeling is that Pastrnak and Boston could score four goals or more on Monday night. Pastrnak is also just two goals from the 40-goal plateau. Keep that in mind.

Morgan Rielly, Defenseman, Toronto Maple Leafs

FanDuel Salary: $6,300

Victor Hedman has been very good of late, but Morgan Rielly could be a better yet more risky alternative.

The Maple Leafs are always capable of scoring some goals. With Tampa Bay's defense a little vulnerable of late, Rielly could take advantage.

The defenseman has three goals and six assists in his last four games. That features 12 shots, 15 scoring chances, and 2 blocked shots during that span.

Toronto knows it has to play a higher-scoring pace. That will lead to more chances on both sides of the ice tonight.
