NHL DFS is similar to MLB in terms of how you build lineups, how you view stacking, and how to value players.

Two main points to always focus on in NHL DFS are what lines the players are on and making sure the goalies you are rostering are confirmed as the starters. Two of the best resources for that are LeftWingLock.com or DailyFaceOff.com. That is where you can find updated forward and power-play lines for each team, along with which goalies are confirmed as the starters.

Let's jump in to take a look at today's slate and some players to consider for your lineups.

Goalie to Target

Darcy Kuemper ($8,300): The Colorado Avalanche are whopping -365 home favorites, and it's clear we should be targeting Kuemper as a solid option in all formats. While the Avs have a 14-point lead in the Central Division, they still have plenty to play for in their hunt for the President's Trophy. They are taking on the San Jose Sharks, who are on the second night of a back-to-back and come in scoring only 2.12 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fewest in the league.

Kuemper is on fire right now, allowing two or fewer goals in six of his last seven starts. That tremendous level of consistency makes him solid for cash games, and there's legitimate shutout potential against this terrible Sharks offense, which gives Kuemper a massive fantasy ceiling to reach for.

High-Salary Skaters

Brad Marchand ($8,800): The Boston Bruins are coming off a tough loss but are in a spot to bounce back versus a weak New Jersey Devils' defense. This season, the Devils are allowing 3.18 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the second-most in the league. We've been attacking the Devils all season, so there's no reason to stop now -- especially when they are going up against a top-line from the Bruins that has a ton of fantasy potential.

Marchand comes in with 10 NHL points and 42 shots on goal over the last 10 games, and with the Bruins sporting a 3.88 implied goal total, he is a top option. Ideally, you'd look to stack him with Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak, which would give you a great first power-play stack for one of the best matchups on the slate.

Andrei Svechnikov ($7,200): Svechnikov should be scoring more goals -- it's really that simple. Svech has only 2 goals over his last 10 games while taking 26 shots on goal in that time. He's still on the second forward line and the first power-play unit, but he's been underproducing. And it's not just this recent 10-game stretch. Throughout the season, he's often gone six, seven, or eight games in a row without scoring. Considering the Carolina Hurricanes are netting the fifth-most goals (2.93) per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, it's a surprise to see Svechnikov with a lack of production.

Hopefully, that can begin to change tonight versus the Montreal Canadiens, who allow the fifth-most (2.90) goals in the same split. This is why we see the Hurricanes as -420 home favorites with a high implied total, which should make them a very chalky option.

Value Skaters

Carter Verhaeghe ($5,200): The Florida Panthers are the best offense in the league, so when they are on the slate, we want some exposure to them. A solid role on the first forward line and the second power-play unit put Verhaeghe in a great spot to rack up fantasy points against a porous Chicago Blackhawks defense. A total of 2.75 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations is what the Blackhawks are allowing this season, putting them as the eighth-worst D in the league. A solid 7 NHL points and 23 shots on goal is what Verhaeghe has posted in his last 10 games.

Artturi Lehkonen ($4,500): With a 4.14 implied goal total, the Avalanche are a team you need a piece of. Due to a few lineup changes, Lehkonen is on the second forward line and the second power-play unit. The Avalanche are scoring 2.90 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, the sixth-best mark in the league. Getting a top-six option in Colorado's lineup for under $5,000 is almost too good to pass up.
