4 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 3/24/22

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy -- but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Thursday night presents us with 10 games. It is time to target some plays that save a little salary.

Erik Haula, Center, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

The good news for Erik Haula is that Patrice Bergeron is probable for Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

That should help Haula and his second line with David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall as they draw bottom-pairing matchups at home in Boston.

Haula slipped in two helpers against Montreal after a six-game real-world points drought. The center is a streaky player, and Boston is riding the wave up the division standings.

Tampa Bay is a bit vulnerable in this spot, and Haula is still salaried under $4,000.

Mattias Janmark, Wing, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $3,500

At winger, we have to mention Kyle Connor, who is mistakenly salaried at $3,600. He's something of a free square, and our model rates him as the best point-per-dollar play of the slate by a country mile.

Moving on.

Does that one-game jump in ice time continue for Mattias Janmark?

There are so many questions with the Vegas Golden Knights forward, but he did have three shots on goal and six scoring chances on Tuesday. That came along with playing over 18 minutes.

Janmark is a dangerous forward with speed to burn. Too many times he has been underutilized this season. That is why the game in Winnipeg was a pleasant turn of events.

Though Vegas is now always a risk, Janmark is not at $3,500.

Dylan Coghlan, Defenseman, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

The Vegas Golden Knights are, in a word, desperate.

Dylan Coghlan stepped into the top-pairing role of sorts on Tuesday and had six shots on goal with two blocked shots. A home spot against the Nashville Predators is not that bad of a matchup.

Seeing increased ice time only helps Coghlan, who could be due for a breakout. He does have three or more shots on goal and four or more scoring chances in five of his past seven appearances.

There are other choices like riding Jordan Spence once more from the Los Angeles Kings. He's also slotted at $4,000.

Jake Allen, Goalie, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $6,600

Yes, this seems crazy. However, Jake Allen is likely to see a ton of pucks come his way on Thursday.

Florida leads the league with 4.06 goals scored per game but more importantly tops the NHL at 36.7 shots per game. Allen just faced 46 shots against a potent Boston team on Tuesday.

With Florida given a 64.2% chance of winning on the road, at the very least Allen is worth a contrarian look.

The Montreal goalie has seen 30 or more shots in five of his past six starts.

Value could be more about padding that save count. Allen is expected to get quite the workout tonight.
