3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Friday 3/11/22

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside -- if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists, as well.

Ideally, we want players who will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

There are just four games on Friday night, but we still have some interesting teams to stack.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins have cooled off since their hot streak saw them win 17 of 19 games at one point this season. They are just 5-4-1 in their last 10 games now. Their top line has still been performing pretty well and looks to continue that tonight.

The captain Sidney Crosby ($8,400) has been producing of late. He has 14 points in his last 10 games and multiple points in three straight games. Bryan Rust ($9,100) has 10 points in his last 10 games and still sits 11th in the NHL in points per game. Jake Guentzel ($8,700) actually leads the team in goals and points still. All three members of this line have put up nice numbers throughout the season and will all join forces on the first power play.

You could also stack the second line for a bit of salary relief. You'll get to play Evgeni Malkin ($7,500), who plays a huge role on the first power play. Then you can play Evan Rodrigues ($4,900) and Danton Heinen ($4,400) who link up on the second power play. This likely won't be a popular stack, but it has good upside for the salary.

The Penguins will play the Vegas Golden Knights tonight. Vegas really doesn't look like the Stanley Cup contender everyone thought they would be. They just lost consecutive games to the Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers on this road trip. Now they'll go into Pittsburgh on a back-to-back and will be starting either third-string goalie Logan Thompson or backup Laurent Brossoit in his second start in as many nights.

The market seems to have lost faith in the Golden Knights. Pittsburgh is a -182 favorite and has an implied team total of 3.64 goals. They certainly are capable of putting up a big fantasy performance in this game tonight.

Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild played in one of the crazier games of the season last night. It not only saw a 6-5 score but had some truly bizarre goals. This game also profiles as one that could go off the rails, which is great for fantasy.

The Wild's top line didn't do most of the damage when they scored their five regulation goals. Kirill Kaprizov ($9,200) did score a goal and extended his points streak to seven games. Mats Zuccarello ($7,200) also picked up a goal in the game. Ryan Hartman ($5,800) had an assist, which is a reasonable performance for his salary. This trio is fully correlated on the top power play now, so it gives them huge potential to connect on some goals.

The second line is definitely an option to stack, as well. Kevin Fiala ($6,500) has really found his game, with eight points in his last five games. Matt Boldy ($6,000) continues to impress as a rookie, as he scored twice last night. Frederick Gaudreau ($4,600) also chipped in with two assists. With the way Minnesota has shifted their power play units, this line also has full correlation on the second unit.

Minnesota will face the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. Columbus allowed six goals to the New York Islanders last night. The Islanders average 2.63 goals per game, while the Wild average 3.73. The Jackets allow the most shots on goal and the third-most goals per game, so this matchup is a recipe for disaster.

The Wild have an implied team total above four goals tonight, the highest on tonight's slate. If you want to get unique with the first line, you could play Joel Eriksson Ek ($5,400) with them instead of Hartman, as Eriksson Ek scored twice last night and is also a big contributor on the top power play.

Vancouver Canucks

We haven't wanted to stack the Vancouver Canucks in a long time. They haven't been fantasy-friendly often this season but have been playing decent hockey since their coaching change. They have some players that are in form who could be fun to stack tonight.

The Canucks were supposed to be built around their young stars, but lately, it's been a veteran who's leading the charge. J.T. Miller ($8,300) has been on fire, with 21 points during his 10-game point streak. His linemate, Brock Boeser ($6,400), has scored in consecutive games and will play with Miller on the power play, as well. Tanner Pearson ($4,700) won't play on the top power play but has a respectable nine points in his last 10 games.

Vancouver will face the Washington Capitals at home tonight. The Capitals are a pretty neutral matchup across the board, and on this small slate, there's nothing that should scare you off from stacking the Canucks against them. Vancouver is favored in the game and also has an implied team total of 3.03, so the oddsmakers expect them to show up in this game.

You could add Quinn Hughes ($6,100) to the stack for more power play correlation. The dynamic defenseman has 41 assists on the year, including four in his last three games. If Vancouver's first power play goes off, he'll likely be a big part of it.
