3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 2/9/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Wednesday night has six games on the schedule. Let's get into the values!
Derick Brassard, Center, Philadelphia Flyers
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
The key is always to make sure Brassard is healthy. He does have four goals and seven assists in 19 games. He sees bottom-six minutes but is expected to help center the second power-play unit.
The Flyers face the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night, and Detroit does allow 3.43 goals per game. They also have a road penalty kill at just 76%. Brassard is worth a look.
Filip Zadina, Wing, Detroit Red Wings
FanDuel Salary: $3,800
Filip Zadina has been the subject of trade rumors over the last month or so. However, he is playing a little better of late with real-world points in three of his last four games (one goal, two assists).
Philadelphia is still routinely giving up nearly 35 shots a game (34.4 per game overall). That does mean Zadina should get his fair share of chances.
It boils down to ice time. Zadina will play 12-13 minutes and in more offensive situations (55% offensive deployment the last ten games). He is a bit of a dangerous play due to lower shot volume, but he does have upside for a point at this low salary.
Detroit is one of the more porous teams on the road in the league, and Philadelphia is the home squad. Expect some offense!
Anton Stralman, Defenseman, Arizona Coyotes
FanDuel Salary: $3,700
Let's ride the hot hand with Anton Stralman.
Now, the defenseman is not to be confused with being an offensive juggernaut, and he only plays around 18 minutes a night. But, 12 shots on goal and 6 blocked shots in the last four games is enticing of enough floor to consider him on Wednesday. That includes 10 shots on goal in his last three games.
The Seattle Kraken can give up some goals, and they do fire more than 31 shots a game at home. Stralman will have chances to contribute on both ends of the ice with blocked shots as well.
Stralman is a cheap plug-and-play option on Wednesday night.
