3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 1/12/22
Erik Haula has been playing alongside two former All-Stars. Does that make him worth a FanDuel roster spot on Wednesday?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Wednesday night has three contests in all. Let's dig in and cook up some value!

Erik Haula, Center, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

The salary has not gone up yet, so why not take advantage of Erik Haula at a lower number again?

Yes, he has played 16+ minutes in each of his last four games -- with Taylor Hall and David Pastrnak, no less.

The Montreal Canadiens come to town on Wednesday night and have not played for 11 days with what could be considered an AHL-level roster. Haula has two goals and three assists in his last five contests, and he's added four blocked shots and eight shots on goal.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy likes this line a lot, and that could mean Montreal likely won't on Wednesday night.

Colin Blackwell, Wing, Seattle Kraken

FanDuel Salary: $3,500

Colin Blackwell is a risky proposition on Wednesday night against the Dallas Stars, but he is playing better of late.

He still is only playing around 13 minutes a night, but Blackwell is taking advantage of some opportunities to play in the middle-six a bit. He has a goal and two assists in his last three games with several blocked shots.

The winger mostly creates space for other players but can generate a few chances on his own. He has six scoring chances in his last three games.

The danger? He doesn't always shoot the puck. He had three missed shots alone versus the Calgary Flames. Fortunately for him, Blackwell also had two assists in that game.

Dallas will dial up much attention to a middling forward like him, so he could end up on the scoresheet Wednesday night.

Dysin Mayo, Defenseman, Arizona Coyotes

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

With Arizona Coyotes having a few issues putting together a full lineup, that helps Dysin Mayo immensely. He could easily see top-pairing and top power-play ice time on Wednesday night versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.

At the very least for the lowly 'Yotes, Toronto just played last night in Vegas.

Mayo has a goal and an assist in his last four contests. He has also played 20-plus minutes in six of his last seven games. He has at least two shots and blocks in four of those appearances.

With the bar being set very low in Arizona for production from the blueline, Mayo may be able to aid your daily fantasy stacks from a value standpoint tonight.
