3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Friday 12/10/21

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs as well.

Let's search for some more value options on Friday night.

Filip Chytil, Center, New York Rangers

FanDuel Salary: $3,400

It was great to see Filip Chytil return to the lineup this week. Against the Colorado Avalanche, Chytil had a goal and an assist and looked like the forward who showed flashes of breaking out last season.

The New York Rangers' center still does not get much in the way of power-play time, but his threat as a middle-six center cannot be underestimated.

Buffalo typically has issues defensively against New York -- whether it be at Madison Square Garden or at home. The Sabres yielded five goals in a loss to the Rangers last month. There should be plenty of chances in what could be quite an entertaining game.

New York is projected to score a slate-high 3.80 goals on Friday night, per our model. Chytil could get in on a piece of that action.

Danton Heinen, Wing, Pittsburgh Penguins

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

With revenge again on their mind, the Pittsburgh Penguins face the rival Washington Capitals on Friday night. Danton Heinen racked up 34.4 FanDuel points in Seattle on Wednesday night. Heinen has seven goals and five assists in 25 games.

There is the inevitable risk of a low floor because Heinen doesn't shoot the puck often. Playing with Sidney Crosby never hurts, though, and if you want to buy into narratives, the rout at the hands of Washington likely still stings heavily in the Pittsburgh locker room.

Heinen figures to see more power-play time, as well. He played almost 16 minutes the other night against the aforementioned Kraken.

The Penguins will carry a bit more value than usual on Friday night. Do not be afraid to take a risk or two.

Ty Smith, Defenseman, New Jersey Devils

FanDuel Salary: $4,100

The New Jersey Devils' defenseman is starting to produce offense, which hides some of his defensive shortcomings.

Ty Smith has tallied an assist in three straight games and has five blocked shots in that span. He is getting a steady 17 to 18 minutes a night, which should be enough time to produce against the Nashville Predators on Friday night.

Can the defenseman keep performing at this level? That is the question. The floor here is scary as Smith has zero or one shot on goal in four of his last seven starts. But there's also a lot to like.

Smith will see some power-play time on occasion. He is currently paired on the second unit with Damon Severson. It is a pair that tends to work better on the man advantage.
