3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Wednesday 6/2/21

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Wednesday night gives us two more playoff games. So, what values can we find?

Tyson Jost, Center, Colorado Avalanche

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

Options this round become more scarce as salaries trend upward on forwards and Tyson Jost is a true all-or-nothing option.

The Colorado Avalanche forward can play anywhere from 13-19 minutes a night depending on how the flow of the game goes. He played 19 in Game 1 and was rewarded with an assist and two shots on goal. Now, the risk is that bagel he delivered in Game 4 against the St. Louis Blues. Aside from that, Jost has produced a decent floor of blocked shots and shots. For a middle-six center, if he combines for three (which he did twice against St. Louis), that is a good night.

Adam Lowry ($3,400) wound up getting top-six ice time on occasion in the last two games for Winnipeg in the last round. He is a nice alternative.

Cole Caufield, Wing, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $3,300

The Montreal Canadiens do not have many quick-strike options in their arsenal. Cole Caufield is one-half of a potential duo with Nick Suzuki. They could be those players.

There is so much risk because Caufield on the road may only get a shot on goal here and there. However, he generates 2-3 scoring chances a night. Even an assist is almost enough to hit value tonight. If the Winnipeg defense is even a bit rusty, the Montreal winger may get a few more shots on goal as well.

This Game 1 may be unexpectedly intriguing as both teams had their issues at the end of the regular season. Winnipeg snapped out of it winning four mostly close games. Montreal went seven grueling contests with Toronto. Caufield may be one of the few players that have any energy from Montreal.

Corey Perry ($3,700) as a backdoor power-play option could be the safer alternative on Wednesday.

Josh Morrissey, Defenseman, Winnipeg Jets

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

This is going to happen inevitably. Some team is going to have a top defenseman with a value salary on at least a few slates. Tonight, that is Josh Morrissey. He plays top-paring on defense and sees ice time on the man advantage and penalty kill.

This play is based on Montreal's inevitable fatigue once the adrenaline wears off. Also, Morrissey has four real-world points in his last two games. The Montreal penalty kill again is ranked 24th overall in the league and was 27th on the road. It is why the idea of a Winnipeg power-play stack is not a bad one.

Finally, do not forget to investigate Ryan Graves ($4,100) a bit further or even a Nicolas Hague ($3,600) as secondary depth options from the blueline on Wednesday night.
