3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Wednesday 5/26/21
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.
Wednesday night gives us three more playoff games. So, what values lurk can we find?
Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Center, New York Islanders
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
Jean-Gabriel Pageau often has the speed to burn and if Pittsburgh sucks the New York Islanders into a higher-tempo game, Pageau has the ability to light the lamp or get several quality chances that bump up his shot floor at the very least.
The New York center has assists in consecutive games and has five scoring chances in that span. This middle-six center is often one of the best at transitioning from defense to offense. Again, with some of the other center options not driving chances, Pageau may be a more viable option at a lesser salary.
Mason Marchment, Wing, Florida Panthers
FanDuel Salary: $3,500
The Florida Panthers' winger is versatile and can play on almost any forward line. He can be paired with Frank Vatrano one shift and Aleksander Barkov the next. The best part is Marchment does not seem to miss a beat.
There is an inherent risk but his salary is just so low. He has 2 goals in five games during these playoffs with 11 shots on goal. That is not bad for a value option. He averages 3.6 hits per game and two scoring chances a contest. His physical play does seem to correlate with his scoring chances created.
The battle between Florida and the Tampa Bay Lightning has been nothing short of pure barbarism. Marchment has been at the center of this and that is where the scoring production may lie on Wednesday night.
Keegan Kolesar ($3,400) had five shots in just 12 minutes of ice time on Monday versus Minnesota.
Nick Leddy, Defenseman, New York Islanders
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
Nick Leddy is an extreme risk-averse option on Wednesday night. He will not score goals as Leddy has just two on the entire season for New York.
Also, his shot and blocked shots floor are low as well. He averages about a shot a game and 1.5 blocks per contest. However, the defenseman has assists in consecutive games. New York may see a boost in offense tonight especially if Pittsburgh risks it all on the other end. Leddy may also block a few more shots as well.
