3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 2/5/21

Five more games greet us on Friday night. So, which values can you trust in NHL DFS tonight?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's larger slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Friday night has five games overall on the slate. Let's hunt for values!

Cody Glass, Center, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $3,300

How bad are values when it comes to the center position tonight? This bad. We have to await word on the status of Cody Glass. This is because he is still on the taxi squad and would have to be activated before tonight's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Glass has two real-world points in three games, but it is a numbers game in Vegas. If he cannot go, then Gabriel Vilardi ($3,500) could be a high-risk attempt from Los Angeles. He does have three goals on the season. Also, Sam Steel ($3,600) remains a possibility from Anaheim. He is playing on the second line and saw 17-plus minutes of ice time in his last game.

Nick Ritchie, Wing, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Salary: $4,200

The Boston Bruins forward did it again with another double-digit FanDuel performance on Wednesday night versus the Philadelphia Flyers. Give the forward credit, as he saw top-six ice time and produced an assist on three shots and three scoring chances. Even with a $500 increase in salary on Friday, he is still a value-choice against a Flyers defense that ranks in the bottom five in shots on goal allowed and penalty kill.

The Flyers without Sean Couturier have a huge void that cannot be filled, as everyone moving up has had a tough time adapting to their roles. Ritchie should be able to take advantage of these matchups once more. Expect more chances in front of the net.

Ryan Donato ($3,800) is enjoying top-six opportunities for San Jose, and Danton Heinen ($3,600) is also for an offensive starved Anaheim Ducks squad.

Alec Martinez, Defenseman, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $4,100

The defense never rests, but the Vegas Golden Knights have basically had almost 10 days off due to COVID cancellations. If the coaching staff decides to go five defensemen in their approach tonight, then Martinez may be a must-start because of his floor potential alone. He only had four shots on net but blocked 10 shots in his previous three contests.

With these lower salaries, it is important to mention that this slate carries some higher-risk options. Martinez may just be the safest overall because of the expected rust Vegas may experience against the Los Angeles Kings.

Mattias Ekholm ($3,900) could be an option from the Nashville Predators. He does not always generate a ton of offense but did have eight shots on net against the Florida Panthers last night along with an assist.
