NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 8/18/20
There are four games on the Tuesday slate as the Stanley Cup Round of 16 gets underway. So, who can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at a goalie, some high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Carter Hart ($8,500): The Philadelphia Flyers will start the young goaltender once again on Tuesday versus the Montreal Canadiens. His first postseason game went exceedingly well as Hart stopped all but one shot. His "home" dominance has been well documented, but Hart pitched a shutout after a 30+ save effort in Game 3. Other than Game 2, Hart has been excellent in net in these mostly lower-scoring games. As another option perhaps, see who winds up in net for the Vegas Golden Knights.

High-Priced Skaters

Sean Monahan ($6,600): With few marquis options at center, Monahan rises to the top of our lists. He had two assists in the wild 5-4 overtime loss the other night. Monahan has managed to maintain a decent floor (shots and some blocks here and there). The key for the Calgary Flames' forward may be special teams, as the Flames' power play has looked more efficient since being in the bubble. Tyler Seguin ($7,200) of the Dallas Stars is another possibility with a high-shot floor.

Alex Ovechkin ($8,400): Ovechkin had just five shot attempts in Game 3, and one hit the net. He has blocked at least one shot in each game, which does help. With the Washington Capitals on the brink of elimination, the expectation of a 5+ shot effort is likely (had six each in Games 1 and 2). The New York Islanders were more disciplined in Game 3 but still got away with several missed infractions. Power play opportunities could be a possibility. Patrick Kane ($8,100) is a bit higher-risk for the Chicago Blackhawks because of the Vegas' defense.

Value Skaters

Milan Lucic ($3,500): There was overtime involved, but Lucic did play a little over 18 minutes against Dallas. The increased ice time meant increased scoring chances, as the forward was able to create space for his linemates. He even saw a few power play shifts as well. Bargains are difficult to find this time of year, but Lucic is a punt-play gamble that does not cost a lot. Corey Perry ($3,900) is another such player from Dallas (third-line even strength with some power play time).

Calvin de Haan ($3,800): The Chicago defenseman is a moderate risk choice on Tuesday night, but going in a conservative fashion may be okay given that de Haan blocks a lot of shots (3+ in every game this series). Shots on goal are a question mark, and he did not have any in Game 3. However, the defenseman has some offensive ability and can provide the occasional point production. It is a true roll of the dice.
