NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 3/10/20

Tuesday night brings us eight games to look at and there are strong options at every position. So, who can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at a goalie, some high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Ben Bishop ($8,400): The Dallas Stars expect to start Bishop in net on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers. Both teams have struggled but Dallas had yielded only ten goals over their last five games. Bishop suffered an injury and had to miss a game over the weekend. He is fine now. The good news for Dallas is that they are 19-11-3 at home plus yield just 2.18 goals per game. New York is 18-12-2 on the road but has given up 24 goals over their past five contests. Carter Hart ($8,700) at home for Philadelphia could be a viable alternative versus a short-handed Boston Bruins.

High-Priced Skaters

Auston Matthews ($8,600): His home prowess alone is enough reason to start the center. Matthews has 31 goals and 48 points in 33 home games with 155 shots on goal. Basically, that is 4.7 shots per game on the net. Also, Matthews has 14 power-play points which includes seven goals at home. He has 4+ shots and 3+ scoring chances in each of his previous seven outings. The center will have chances against a Tampa Bay Lightning which gives up over three goals a contest without Steven Stamkos in the lineup. Sidney Crosby ($8,500) enjoys a plus matchup against the New Jersey Devils.

Claude Giroux ($7,800): Giroux's resurgent season continued with real-world points in three straight starts. That included 11 shots on net and nine scoring chances as well. The winger has been a big part of the Flyers' nine-game winning streak. Giroux has been frustrated by the Patrice Bergeron line in the first two meetings but Boston with Brandon Carlo and Torey Krug in the lineup could open some opportunities up for Giroux and the top-unit power play of Philadelphia in particular. Nikita Kucherov ($8,300) has points in 22 of his previous 23 games (34 points).

Value Skaters

Yanni Gourde ($3,800): Gourde has played better of late with a goal and four assists in his previous five starts. There are two concerns -- one is the middle-six level ice time and the other is shot volume (just two shots in this span). However, Toronto allows 3.08 goals per game on the road and has lost three consecutive games. This is a risky value play that could pay off given Gourde's speed and Toronto's lack of ability to stop said speed. Danton Heinen ($3,700) has a favorable home matchup versus the Ottawa Senators.

Dakota Mermis ($3,600): The Devils defenseman has real-world points in each of his last two games. He has just nine shots on goal in the previous six contests but has 2+ blocks in five of those six games. He is currently playing second-pairing defensive minutes for New Jersey and is proving to be one of their steadies blueliners already. He appears to have a good matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins who have yielded 21 goals in their last five contests and dropped back to back games over the weekend (11 goals yielded). Christian Djoos ($3,600) is seeing top ice time for the Anaheim Ducks.
