3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 1/30/20

Jeff Petry provides solid offence at a reasonable price on tonight's three-game slate.

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars

Jack Hughes, Center, New Jersey Devils

FanDuel Price: $4,300

Jack Hughes has definitely struggled as an 18-year-old rookie with sky-high expectations. He has just 6 goals and 17 points in 41 games which is far from ideal for a 1st overall pick. This evening, he will play on the New Jersey Devils third line at even strength and has a spot on the team's top power-play unit.

The one caveat here is that the Devils power play has been pretty terrible this season and ranks dead last, converting on just 14.1 percent of their opportunities. However, the Nashville Predators are on the tail-end of a back-to-back which certainly helps here.

Conor Garland, Winger, Arizona Coyotes

FanDuel Price: $4,500

Literally every time the Arizona Coyotes play, Conor Garland pops as one of the top points-per-dollar plays. Tonight is no different as he is the fourth-highest points-per-dollar winger, as per our projections.

While the Coyotes are on the second half of a back-to-back, the visiting Los Angeles Kings also played last night so the fatigue factor is there for both teams. Garland plays on the top line at even strength with Taylor Hall and Christian Dvorak, as well as the trio playing together on the team's top power-play unit with Phil Kessel and Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

Jeff Petry, Defense, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Price: $4,800

On pace for 47 points, Jeff Petry is on pace to surpass his career-high in points — 46 last season — by one point with 47. However, he is on pace for his lowest shot total since 2015-2016 and is on pace for just 97 blocked shots which is just 1.18 per game and would be his lowest block rate of his career.

Petry mans the top power-play unit for the Montreal Canadiens, who takes on the Buffalo Sabres team that struggles on the penalty kill. Their penalty kill is successful just 74.0 percent of the team which ranks 29th in the NHL.
