5 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 1/14/20

Dominik Kubalik has a great matchup against the defensively inept Ottawa Senators. Who else is a strong value on Tuesday?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars

Christian Dvorak, Center, Arizona Coyotes

FanDuel Price: $4,300

The biggest disappointment this season is probably the San Jose Sharks. They sit 26th in the NHL in both points and goals against, and although the Arizona Coyotes are not necessarily an offensive stalwart, they're a pretty solid team.

Christian Dvorak is playing on the top line with Taylor Hall and Conor Garland at even strength and also has a role on the top power-play unit with Hall, Phil Kessel, Clayton Keller and Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

Tyler Johnson, Winger, Tampa Bay Lightning

FanDuel Price: $4,000

Most will flock to the top line tonight, but there is actually considerable value if you look at the second line. Steven Stamkos, Anthony Cirelli and Tyler Johnson make up the second line at even strength, while Cirelli and Johnson play together on the second power-play unit -- not a fantastic role but still a bit of a perk.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are on a tear of late, going 10-1-0 over their last 11 games, scoring an average of four goals per game over that stretch, and tonight they should be able to add to that.

Dominik Kubalik, Winger, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Price: $4,600

Dominik Kubalik is a 24-year-old rookie for the Chicago Blackhawks after spending the last two years in Switzerland. He's been very good, putting up 16 goals and 26 points in 44 games, averaging just 13:20 minutes of ice time per game. Tonight, he's going to play on a line with Jonathan Toews and Drake Caggiula while playing on the second power-play unit.

They take on the Ottawa Senators, a team that hasn't been very good but is an exciting team to watch. The Sens are allowing 3.36 goals against per game, which is the third-most in the NHL.

Miro Heiskanen, Defense, Dallas Stars

FanDuel Price: $4,600

Miro Heiskanen was expected to take a solid leap forward this season, and he has certainly been productive. He had 33 points in 82 games last season and is on pace for 42 points this season. It's a reasonable jump in offensive production for a 20-year-old defenseman.

The Dallas Stars visit the Colorado Avalanche tonight, which is far from an easy matchup, but Heiskanen certainly can overcome this. He plays on the top power-play unit and is averaging 2.49 shots per game and 1.35 blocks per game, which gives him a solid floor and ceiling.

Rasmus Sandin, Defense, Toronto Maple Leafs

FanDuel Price: $3,500

With injuries to Jake Muzzin and Morgan Rielly, the Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled both Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren. While Liljegren will not play tonight, Sandin gets another crack at the NHL after being sent back down earlier in the season.

He's going to be paired with Cody Ceci, which is far from ideal and most likely means they'll be the third pair and seeing the least amount of ice time. However, these pairs could certainly change during the game, as Sheldon Keefe is not afraid to make in-game adjustments. Sandin is the stone minimum for defensemen on FanDuel and has put up 15 points in 21 games in the AHL as a 19-year-old, so he has some offensive upside.
