NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 12/12/19

Another 12-game slate this Thursday night with Connor McDavid leading the way. So, who else can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Sergei Bobrovsky ($7,700): Bobrovsky is expected to get the nod on Thursday night against the New York Islanders. Though the Florida Panthers goaltender did not get the win on Tuesday, he did stop 46 shots in defeat. That makes three straight games where the goalie had 28+ FanDuel points. Florida just has a tendency to allow shots in bunches of late, and Bobrovsky is at an extremely low price. There are other options out there on Thursday night too. Does Devan Dubnyk ($7,500) return to face the Edmonton Oilers? It is an excellent question.

High-Priced Skaters

Connor McDavid ($9,200): McDavid is again the best center on the slate Thursday night. He has "struggled" by his standards, but is still averaging 1.67 real-world points per contest. His three-assist effort against Carolina masks a run of only one goal in his previous eight games. Could McDavid break into the goal column in a big way tonight? It is possible, but even his shot totals are down (2.5 per game) in that span. It comes down to McDavid just hitting the net at his usual rate. Jack Eichel ($8,800) is another good choice against a Nashville Predators team that allows 3.36 goals per game on the road.

Artemi Panarin ($8,300): Panarin faces the San Jose Sharks on Thursday as San Jose has a new coach but likely will play the same way. Maybe there will be a positive push, but Panarin should still have plenty of chances in what could be a more wide-open affair. The New York Rangers winger has topped 18 FanDuel points in three of his last four outings. His scoring chances are more than three per game in that span too. The Rangers' top line could be part of a contrarian mini-stack with a defenseman, perhaps to alleviate cost. Nikita Kucherov ($8,200) has cooled off a bit but faces a non-rested Boston Bruins team.

Value Skaters

Frank Vatrano ($3,600): Vatrano is a decent punt option when he hits the net with his shot often. He had five shots against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday and could be a nice middle-six cog against the New York Islanders tonight. His scoring chances per 60 have stayed level enough. This makes him valuable at a decent price point, given he averages 9.8 FanDuel points per contest. Conor Garland ($3,700) is another good option from Arizona Coyotes as they are home against Chicago.

Jakob Chychrun ($3,800): Chychrun has exceeded 11+ points in three of his previous four games for Arizona. He has 13 shots and 7 blocks in that span, which gives him a peripheral of five shots and blocked shots (SABS). That is a solid number to build off of at his price. Mackenzie Weegar ($3,700) could be an under-the-radar pick from Florida on this large Thursday slate.
