3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 12/2/19

Ryan Pulock has a fantastic matchup against the worst defensive team in the NHL. What other value plays should we target tonight?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.

Paul Stastny, Center, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Price: $4,500

Paul Stastny centers the second line for the Vegas Golden Knights, and he comes in at a pretty cheap price tag, considering the elite matchup. The New York Rangers have been absolutely abysmal defensively this season, giving up an NHL-worst 65.08 Corsi against per 60.

Stastny plays on the Golden Knights second line at even strength as he centers Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone. This trio remains intact on the top power-play unit as well, giving Stastny full-game correlation with his linemates.

Ondrej Kase, Winger, Anaheim Ducks

FanDuel Price: $3,900

Ondrej Kase has certainly been a disappointment this season between lack of points and general injury troubles. This is something he has dealt with throughout his early career. However, the potential is high with Kase, and tonight's matchup provides one of the best opportunities for him to realize this.

Kase has seen his role decrease a bit at even strength since he has been moved down to the third line with Adam Henrique and Nick Ritchie. In addition, he has a role on the Anaheim Ducks second power-play unit. The Ducks power play is not very good, ranked 30th in the NHL, but at least he's getting the opportunity.

Ryan Pulock, Defense, New York Islanders

FanDuel Price: $4,500

The New York Islanders visit the Detroit Red Wings tonight in which they have a premium matchup. The Red Wings are allowing an NHL-worst 3.93 goals against per game, which is 0.41 goals more than the next worst. That's an incredibly large gap, and shows just how bad Detroit has been at keeping the puck out of their net.

Now, the Islanders are far from an offensive dynamo with 2.88 goals per game — 17th in the NHL. But this provides an elite matchup for Ryan Pulock, who comes in as the highest points-per-dollar play among defensemen, as per our projections.
