NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 10/8/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

And our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
David Rittich ($7,700): The Calgary Flames goaltender expects to face the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. Rittich bounced back after a subpar home opener and delivered a 34-save shutout against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. Rittich was able to stop all ten high-danger scoring chances. The Kings scoring five goals again seems to have a very low chance of occurring again. Jimmy Howard ($7,200) presents as a possible value option (IF he starts) against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night for the potential of facing 30+ shots.
High-Priced Skaters
Connor McDavid ($9,100): The forward was supposed to be getting in game-shape after recovering from a knee injury. That would be wrong. McDavid has five real-world points in two games which included a goal and three assists against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night. About the only thing McDavid has not done is generate a lot of shots. Chances have been plenty as he is +5 on them. Several players are available tonight including Sidney Crosby ($8,500) and Dylan Larkin ($7,500) -- who anchors the line with Anthony Mantha (scored four goals on Sunday against the Dallas Stars).
John Gaudreau ($7,800): "Johnny Hockey" plays against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. The left-winger is shooting the puck at a rate of 2.5 times per game. The scoring chance rate is through the roof with Calgary players as Gaudreau is generating over 40 scoring chances per 60. The one good thing in rostering opposition players is that at even-strength, Calgary allows nearly 40 chances per 60 when the top line is on the ice. Leon Draisaitl ($8,400) and Mark Stone ($7,500) also present solid GPP plays against the Islanders and Bruins.
Value Skaters
Frank Vatrano ($3,700): Vatrano is not on the radar of most DFS players because he still has been stuck in a middle-six role but Vatrano does get some power-play time on the Florida Panthers' second unit. Part of the reason why the Panthers ranked third in the league last year was that their second unit was second in the NHL in power-play goals. Vatrano tallied 24 goals overall on 200+ shots last season. Eventually, the winger is bound to break through and the Carolina Hurricanes will allow around 30 shots or more. Tomas Nosek ($3,600) and Mattias Janmark ($3,700) could be good cheap choices from the wing position on Tuesday night.
Ville Heinola ($3,500): The injuries to the Winnipeg Jets defensive corps has forced their hand in playing the young rookie. His ice time has steadily climbed in each game and he played 23+ minutes against the New York Islanders. Heinola generated three scoring chances and hit the net five times on eight shooting attempts. For a minimum-priced defenseman, that is very good value. Some other choices are Andrej Sekera and Scott Mayfield could be other punt-play surprises on Tuesday night.
