NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 10/7/19
Monday night offers just two games on the schedule. So, who can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

And our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Carter Hutton ($7,100): The Buffalo Sabres goaltender expects to face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. Hutton won his first two starts while facing just 49 shots (24.5 per game). His reward is facing a Blue Jackets team that is averaging just 1.5 goals per game on the season that still has 30+ shot potential. Jordan Binnington ($8,400) presents as a nice contrarian option of sorts on Monday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs

High-Priced Skaters

Jack Eichel ($7,500): The forward plays well with everyone but with Sam Reinhart and Victor Olofsson in particular. At even strength, Eichel is +5 in scoring chance differential and +2 in high-danger chance differential. Columbus is allowing nearly 35 scoring chances per 60 in the early going. Also, Buffalo scored three power-play goals against New Jersey on Saturday night. Their top-unit features the Eichel line as well. Several players are available tonight including Brayden Schenn ($5,800) and Auston Matthews ($8,900) -- who has five goals and 16 shots already in just three contests.

Mitchell Marner ($8,000): Marner plays against the St. Louis Blues on Monday night. The right-winger is shooting the puck more often this year at a rate of four times per game. The scoring chance rate is through the roof with Toronto players right now as Marner is generating around 45 chances per 60. The one good thing in rostering opposition players is that at even-strength, Toronto allows up to 50 chances per 60 when the top line is on the ice. Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,600) and Jeff Skinner ($6,800) also present solid GPP plays against the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets respectively.

Value Skaters

Samuel Blais ($3,600): Blais is still not on the scope of most DFS players' radars in the early going. He is playing on the second line for the Blues though and generating some opportunities. Though he is on the ice for just 14 minutes a game, Blais has two goals and an assist in two games. Also, he may not see ice time on the power play but the season is young. If Blais keeps generating chances (10 already) and he does not make mistakes, the increased opportunities will happen. Ilya Mikheyev ($3,700) could be someone to ponder when it comes to rostering tonight from Toronto.

Cody Ceci ($4,100): The Toronto defenseman is playing top minutes and a ton of chances are created for and against with him on the ice. He has eight blocks on the young season in three games -- including six against Montreal. Going up against a versatile top line like in St. Louis expects to keep that block potential up. If Ceci continues to play 23+ minutes a night, he will be a value play for himself and whomever goes up against him offensively from the opposition. Jake McCabe ($3,700) is a viable alternative from the Sabres on Monday night.
