3 Daily Fantasy Hockey Stacks for 1/9/17
Alec Martinez and a defensive stack could pay dividends in NHL DFS tonight. Who else should you stack?

Calgary Flames

Players to target: Matthew Tkachuk, Mikael Backlund, and Michael Frolik

This is a stack that has been written up almost every time they have played for the last couple weeks, and that will keep being the case if they play this well. They continue to produce game after game but keep going under-owned in tournaments.

Tonight, they face a penalty-happy (over 3.6 times shorthanded per game) Winnipeg Jets team who they dominated just last month. In the last meeting between these two, the Flames won 6-2 while Backlund and Tkachuk each contributed three points.

They played 40% of their minutes against the Mark Scheifele line, which is now without Patrik Laine (concussion), making it an even better matchup for the Flames' second line should they face Scheifele and company again.

The advanced stats for this line remain great as they own a 66 Corsi For per 60 minutes, 58 Corsi For %, and almost 12 scoring chances for per 60 minutes. They have been one of the best possession lines in the league but often go overshadowed because of the 1-2 punch of John Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. For DFS purposes, we hope they will go overlooked again tonight.
