Buccaneers noncommittal on Week 4 quarterback
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter wouldn't say whether Jameis Winston or Ryan Fitzpatrick will start against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.
What It Means:
"Jameis is a member of our team and anxious to get him back," coach Dirk Koetter said after the game on Monday night. "And I know Jameis, whatever role he ends up in, I know Jameis will embrace that role and give it everything he's got." Winston is eligible to return Tuesday after being suspended for the first three games of the season, but after Fitzpatrick's scorching start to the year, it sounds like the former number-one overall pick will not be handed back the starting job. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times writes that it "seems unlikely" Winston will start in Chicago.
The Buccaneers offense is 4th in numberFire's NFL Team Power Rankings, spearheaded by Ryan Fitzpatrick, who currently leads the league with 1,230 passing yards.
