San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) had an MRI confirm he tore his ACL on Sunday.
The Niners' quarterback also suffered some damage to his MCL, but the ligament remains intact. The injury, as expected will end Garoppolo's 2018 season. He should make a full recovery in time to start in Week 1 of 2019. C.J. Beathard will take over the starting duties for San Francisco the rest of the year.
Garoppolo's 2018 season ends with the QB throwing for 718 yards and 5 touchdowns with 3 interceptions on 89 pass attempts.
