What It Means:

Meredith has been kept out of games since his ACL tear last August, but the ex-Bear is ready to return to the field. He'll be buried on the depth chart initially behind Tre'Quan Smith and Austin Carr, but the Saints didn't sign Meredith to a $9.5M contract to sit on the bench. He'll be eased in, but look for Meredith to have a large role by season's end.
